- South Africa’s Former President Thabo Mbeki has arrived in Abuja, Nigeria. He is leading the Commonwealth Observer Mission to Nigeria, which will be holding Africa’s largest democratic exercise when it holds general elections. The current president Mahamadu Buhari’s second term in office will expire after election. The elections comes at the time where the country is facing the economic challenges due to the COVID19 and the war in Ukraine.
