  • A week after one of the worst earthquakes to hit Turkiye and Syria and the death toll continues to climb. It has killed 29-thousand-605 people in Turkiye and more than 3-thousand-500 in Syria, where tolls have not been updated for two days.
  • Fans of rapper Kiernan Forbes – known as AKA – have laid flowers at the site at which he was gunned down in Florida Road, Durban, on Friday night. People put up posters to pay tribute to the rapper and his long-time friend Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motoane – who died in the same attack. Two large candles and pots of peace lilies mark the spot where the two lives were violently taken.
    Lawyers representing the family of Kiernan Forbes have confirmed that the rapper’s body has arrived in Johannesburg. The family is expected to announce details for the funeral and a memorial service later in the week.
  • The South African Weather Service has issued an alert for more heavy rainfall over large parts of Limpopo. The disruptive rains are predicted to continue until tomorrow. The Weather Service has issued a warning for disruptive rain leading to widespread flooding today in the Mopani and Vhembe Districts of Limpopo as well as the Ehlanzeni District of Mpumalanga.
